x-ref only part of a drawing ?

Is it possible to only x-ref part of a drawing in auto cad 2002?

xref the drawing, then use Xclip

Dear Noodle,
You will need to open a viewport to expose the desired area (assuming you are working in paper space/model space) or consider setting up layers to accomodate your desired outcome. By adjusting the layers you are able to freeze layers by viewports. You can have the same x-ref in more than one viewport but, showing different line work. Or just
make a separate drawing. Hope it helps
