WinXP and Acad2000

Can someone point me to a resource that states that Autodesk does not
support Acad2000 on WinXP? Even better if it states that they are
incompatible.

Thanks,
MS

I don't see anything about Acad2000. Am I blind?

That's because it's not supported 🙂

Read #5 again.

Search under "Program Compatibility Wizard" in the win XP Help index..
it will walk you through setting XP to emulate Win 2000 for a specific
program.
Works fine for me.... been using Acad2000 on XP Pro this way for 6 months
without any problems....

Dave,
Could you, or someone else, please provide more details instructions on this. I urgently need to do it, but am unsure where you mean to search for help. Which win XP help index are you referring to? One in AutoCAD 2000? One at the Autodesk web site?

If you could paste or email (jamey@yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au) the instructions then I would be most grateful.

Thank you if you can help,
James

Step by step instructions:

Go to / click on
this pops up a dial box. In the top type "Program Compatibility
Wizard" and click the to the right.
now the screen changes to "search results" there is now (1) item shown
"Getting older programs to run on Win XP" (which is blue)
Click on it and it gives you another screen "Getting older programs to run
on Windows XP" which explains how to use the capability wizard.
Click on (which is blue)
Follow the instructions and you will be good to go....

Cheers,

Dave

Dave,
We have had a problem with vertical distortion since we have updated to a new PC with XP Pro. Do you have any ideas?

The XP Compatibility guide on the Autodesk web site DOES NOT list any of the 2000 products, therefore, they are NOT supported under Windows XP Home or Professional.

Question: Is Windows XP listed as one of the supported operating systems for AutoCAD 2000? Check the side of the box. XP is not listed because it was not released when 2000 was released. Bill Gates did such a fantastic job with this new OS that NONE of the 2000 products, nor any other NON-AUTOCAD that worked in previous operating systems, will work. Just buy 2002 or 2004.

Acad 2000 works just fine on my XP Pro machine.....
Just had to use the software compatibility wizard to make Acad 2000 think it was
Win 2000. No problems at all....
