What is the difference between those four commands ?

Hello again,

I'd asked it saveral days before, but i'm a bit confused about my answer i
got
Can anybody tell me which commandprompt is the best in MNS or LSP-files?

1) "LINE"
2) ".LINE"
3) "._LINE"
4) "_.LINE"

What is the difference between those four commands ?

I'v read that number 3 is the best, but is it starting with "_." or with
"._" ?
Is one of them wrong or are both valid ?

Martin.

3 and 4 are identical and are the the best calls.
The "." calls the native acad command (just in case some on has redefined
the "line" command)
The "_" calls the language independant acad command (just in case you are
working on the French Version)

You should use 3) or 4), they are identical. Why you should use this
syntax I wrote an explanation some days ago.

Martin,
all these formats are valid but the "3" is really the best one. It will work
in any language version of AutoCAD and even if the original command was
Undefined. For a list of command prefixes see:

2, 3, and 4 are all the actual AutoCAD commands. 1 might be a redefined
AutoCAD command that does more or different things than what you would
expect.

Enter VLIDE on the command line (press enter). Then press F1. Then search
for "Foreign Language Support" (with the quotes). This will explain what
the underscore is for and what the period is for. It also states that there
is absolutely no difference between "._LINE" and "_.LINE" Using 3 or 4 is
the same, one is not better than the other. Choose the one that you like
reading better and go with that one. I prefer "_.LINE" because it's easier
for my eyes to read.
