versacad conversion to autocad

We received a drawing file with the suffix ".vsd". Is this a versacad
file? Is there some utility that would convert this to dxf?

It's a Visio Drawing - Versacad uses the extension .2d.
I believe Visio has a DXF/DWG export.

You need the 'other' application to create the DXF/DWG file that AutoCAD can
read.
