Troubles with "Unhandled access violation"

While rendering a drawing (with Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3.3) I had
the following message:

«Eccezione C0000005 (Access Violation Reading 0x2267706a) non gestita
all'indirizzo 7801269Ch»

or

«Eccezione C0000005 (Access Violation Reading 0x226770ce) non gestita
all'indirizzo 63D317D9h»

then, trying to return to the isometric view:

«FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Readingo 0x226770ce
Exception at 63d317d9h»

How can I try to face this kind of errors?

Thank you very much

Daniele,

Try running AUDIT ont he drawing as it may be a drawing corruption causing
this problem. Make sure you have all updates installed and also check in the
ADT discussion group for suggestion as well as the online Knowledge Base
http://support.autodesk.com.

Well, I run audit but there were no errors in the file. I started again
several times by running "w-block" command and each time I used a step by
step procedure: I try to run render without assigning materials, then I
begin to create one material and assign it (usually by layer) and run render
again. I go on till I start to have error messages. Usually, after the first
error message, I can go on using the photo real render instead of
photoraytrace. I noticed that the error messages start to appear, in each
"step by step" procedure (I made 3 of them today), in different times and
situation, but allways after a render was launched.
I don't know what to do futher....

Thank you again!

Daniele,

Have a look in the online Knowledge Base at the below topics for
possibilities. It could also be a corrupted drawing for which Audit cannot
detect the issue or a corrupted installation of ADT. I am not seeing
anything previously reported with this specific error.

Thank you, Shaan

I looked in the Knowledge Base in this afternoon, but I was not able to find
anything usefull. I found the topic TS73396 yesterday, but after checking
the file I noticed that render material paths are not exceeding 100
charachters. I don't know what else I can do...
Can I ask you what does ADT stands for?

ADT stands for Architectural Desktop which is what you mentioned you were
using. I am not sure what else could be causing this. When did it start and
have you imported data from other applications into the file?

No, I worked till saturday in the evening and everithing was OK. Sunday in
the morning this trouble come out as soon as I tried to run the first
rendering, after having changed some material maps (I usually use to map
materials with JPG images). The file was exactly the same, I did not add a
single line since the day before, only created and saved new views and
changed material maps. Sunday I succeded in solve the situation by using the
step by step procedure I described before, and only "lost" a layer material
(in other words I discovered that render would run without problems if I
turned the "general_matte" layer off, or if I detached the material map from
it).
But today I had the some trouble, and I was forced first to erase some
objects (blocks) and then to detach the material map from other layers, and
in spite of this I can not have renderings, anyway!

Well, could I have any result if I completely uninstall Architectural
Desktop and install the software again?

Thank you....

It sounds like something happened to the file or your installation on
Saturday or Sunday but you are unsure of exactly what. I am not certain if
reinstalling or using the Add/Remove Repair option would solve this as I
have not seen this specific error.

Well, I tried to re-install ADT without uninstall it previously, and in the
second dialog box I chose "ripara caricamento di AEC" (repair AEC loading).
Then I tried to run some rendering, and everything seemed to be OK.
Have I found the right way to face this problem?

Thank you very much....
