Stretching

A co-worker of mine was telling me that he thought there was a way, when you are stretching something to do it almost like a pline instead of the usual "window". Does anyone know how to do this or if it can even be done? It would really come in handy if I knew how to do it.....

Use fence selection. After entering the stretch command type f nad you can get an irregular boundry for stretching.
