Special Character - Center Line symbol?

Hi,
Does anyone know how to insert a special character for Center Line symbol in MText? I searched all of character maps but to no avail. It should look like "C" on top of "L". Thanks.

With many fonts, you can use the ASCII Character Values. The value for a Centerline Symbol is 174. When you wish a Centerline Symbol, you type "%%174". Those characters after the first quote mark are the percentage symbol. You type two of them. Check out the ASCII Character Values for more useful symbols. Also, you can underline text with a line that is part of the text. You type "%%u" preceeding the words you wish underlined. Then you type "%%u" again to stop the underlining. Try it, you'll use it. "%%o" will overscore the words and "%%u%%o" will both underline and overscore the words. Again, these lines are part of the text.

That's pretty cool, but it didn't work for
me.  I know about many other uses for %% - but %%174 just gets me the
question mark!  What version of ACAD do you use?

You have a customised font. The standard character for %%174 is the
registered symbol (R in a circle). Of course, early AutoCAD fonts only
defined the minimum number of characters and so you may end up with a ?.
Try this with ISOCP and you will see what I mean.

In Mtext editor type "q"
(no quotas, low case), select it and change the font of this letter to
GDT one. That will produce the symbol you are after.

Only 'cause you asked, I'm on AutoCad 2002. We use many fonts. Some of them have the ASCII characters. Some don't. Try using a common font, such as "leroy".
The other replys have other working methods that are useful.
