"Autodesk Educational Product" stamp on drawings

We just plotted out a drawing we received from a client and the
"PRODUCED BY AN AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT" stamp is on the drawing when
it is plotted. Does anyone know if there is a way to do to get it off? Do
I have to send it back to the person who originally worked on it?

Thank You in Advance!!

John -

This is an often discussed topic. Here is how to find the past
discussions which deal with this issue in depth.

At http://discussion.autodesk.com/ you can search the newsgroups
for previously posted questions. Put keywords in the blank box
and then chose search for "last 3 days, last 2 weeks, last 3
months or all". Search will bring up a list of newsgroup messages
matching the text you provide in the search box.

By using the Autodesk server search engine you will be searching
all available messages not just those on your local newsgroup
cache.

Put in the specific words (educational stamp) as the search words
and chose All for the time length of the search. 48 separate
message groups will show up. Clicking on an individual topic
listed in the search findings will spread out the messages in
that topic in a tree formation. The topics are listed by date
with the newest date at the top.

Hope this helps you in future questions.

Yes, you need to send it back. Here is what Autodesk says about the whole
thing:

For Educational Use Only plot stamp
Published date: 2001-11-05
ID: TS63668

Applies to:
AutoCAD® 2002
AutoCAD® 2000i
AutoCAD® 2000
AutoCAD® Release 14
AutoCAD LT® 2002
AutoCAD LT® 2000i
AutoCAD LT® 2000

Issue

When you plot a drawing that was created in or that contains drawing data
that was created in the Educational (Student and Faculty) version of
AutoCAD® or AutoCAD-based software, the following plot stamp or watermark
appears in the plot:

For Educational Use Only

Solution

There is no way to circumvent the plot stamp. This is as designed to
discourage the commercial use of an educational version of an AutoCAD
product. Autodesk sells educational versions of software on the premise that
the software will be used for educational purposes only.

This can also occur when using blocks or other components of drawings that
have been created or modified in an Educational version. This includes
layers, blocks, layouts, and so on.

www.manusoft.com produces a small program to remove this stamp.
I haven't had the need to use it, so I can't say whether it works or not,
but give it a go.

No, it does not remove it. It alerts you when you try and open/insert
etc a drawing that has been produced with an educational copy of AutoCAD
or LT.
