protect xref

Hello!

Are there other way not to allow xref-ed files to be edited, beside that of making them (files) as read only?

Thank you!

Making the files read-only is not protection as anyone with even a basic
knowledge on computers should be able to find out how to turn it off.

The only real way to protect a drawing (even with 2004) is CADLock.
With 2004, you can apply a password, but if you give the password away,
the drawing can be accessed without any restriction.

One point about CADLock is that when you XREF the protected drawing, the
drawing it is used in takes on the same protection level.
