Properties window for text

I am trying to change the style of text from the properties window. It shows in the help file that if I select a text object and then click on the properties tab, then I should be able to change certain features of the text(i.e. style, justify, contents, etc.) But when the properties window pops up there is not a category for the text properties. Am I missing something in my options setup and how can I fix this problem? I know I can change the style by using the command line, but that is cumbersome and takes a long time. It sure would be nice to be able to change it from the properties window. Please help.

Then there should be a 'text' area in the properties window.

But there isn't. The only categories that I have are general and geometry. Weird huh?

I do notice that if I click on multiline text that it gives me the ability to change the text properties for it? I wonder why it won't give me that ability for sinle line text?

You'll have to post a sample file with this text for someone to explore:
Customer Files area is the appropriate posting place.

I have this 'Reset Properties Window' macro:
^C^Carx;u;acopm;properties;
on a custom button because I'm always losing fields in the properties box.

Try typing:
arx u acopm
and then trying properties again. If that fixes things it might be worth
setting yourselves up a similar button.
