Mtext Editor text invisible

I have seen this problem on two machines and cannot find a solution listed
anywhere on the web. Is anyone seeing this problem or know a solution?
When editing Mtext in the Mtext editor the text to edit does not show up
visually. If you select it it will show while it is highlighted, but will
disappear again when deselected. I suspect: 1. the video driver or 2. A
windows default color setting. The operating system on one of the computers
is Windows2000 Professional and the other computer is Windows XP Home. I
have ruled out the "Home" edition as the problem because it occurs in W2KPro
also. Both computers use Nvidia chip video cards but there are two different
version Nvidia drivers in the two computers. One is a GeForce 2 MX200 with
driver 6.13.10.4109 and one is a GeForce 4 MX420 with driver 6.13.10.3190
Any help or info is appreciated. (PS - I have not had a chance to try a
Standard VGA driver yet to verify that it truly is the video driver)

Thanks
Jim Henn

Jim,
Try the Windows display settings, smooth edges of screen fonts.

I changed the font smoothing to Clear Type and that did not fix the problem.  Then I discovered the text was on a layer that had a line type other than continuous!  When I changed to layer linetype to continuous, everything was good!
