Memory Overload?

PIII 650, 256MB Ram, NT4.0 SP5, A2ki SP2

Here's the problem. I'm working on some sheets that are about 4K, that have
about 3.5M xreffed into them (4 seperate xrefs-3 in ms, 1 in ps. Only 1
layout). I have one of the xrefs and about 3 of the sheets open. Not every
time, but sometimes when I regen in layout, Acad freezes on me. It says
it's regenerating, but never finishes. Sometimes it happens when I
regenall. Does anyone know if this could be caused by lack of horsepower or
memory? It seems that the problem is occuring because I have too much open.
I can usually work with one of the sheets and one of the xrefs at a time
without problems, but once I open more than that I'm having this problem.
Any ideas would help.

To clarify a little: When I say freeze, I mean that esc won't stop it from
attempting to regen + Audit finds no errors.

Check under the control panel in windows under the "system" settings you should get all the information you would need. You will most likely just have to update some Video Driver files. That usually fixes about 80% of this type of problem. Video RAM is becoming almost as important, as RAM. bratz@kearneydev.com

I know you're probably laughing at me, but I cannot find it in the "system"
settings. If it's not too much trouble, could you be a little more
specific. TIA.

OK, thank you. I've got a Matrox Graphics Inc. V.4.0.137 with 8MB memory.

Well, now that you have that info, it's time to do a bit of searching on the net to see if you've got the latest drivers, if you do, then it's on the the next portion of problem solving. bratz@kearneydev.com
