MEASURE BLOCK W ATTRIB

I have never tried this before but I dont know why it wont work. I
create a block with attributes then use the measure command, select the
block and tell it the inteval. The block linework comes in fine but the
attributes are history. I explode the block (still no text). I
redifine the block....still no attribs but then I explode it and the
text shows up. I can bring insert the block and the attribs are
there... why cant I measure along a ployline and edit the
attributes???? very odd

TIA

If I remember right:

When you dig around in the help files you find that when you use measure and
divide to place blocks autocad places them the same way it places blocks
during minsert, which is without attributes. Sorry, but if looks in the
cadalog site I >think< there is a routine or two that addresses this.

Good luck,

You could use this work around. Create a nested block with the block you
want. Use measure, then explode the blocks, leaving the originals in place.

Something interesting, when using Minsert with blocks with attributes, the
attribute value will show, and if you edit it with ATTEDIT, they will all
change to that value.

Thanks... I hadnt thought of trying that. I will have to try that the next
time. This goaround I just went through and placed text (150 miles of
stationing).

I get the same result...Dont think I care for it. I did try the nested block
deal and that worked pretty slick
