keeping dimension integrity

I have noticed in power dimensioning that when two dim lines cross it
automatically breaks them, keeping the whole dimension intact. Is there a
way to achieve the same effect without power dimensioning or exploding the
dim?

Thanks

This is a feature of MDT or Acad Mech. I don't think that there is a way to
get this without using the AMPOWERDIM command. However, have you tried any
of the other Acad Mech dimensioning/dim editing commands?

AMDIMALIGN Aligns dimensions to a selected dimension.
AMDIMARRANGE Arranges selected dimensions in accordance with a selected
edge.
AMDIMBREAK Creates breaks in an existing dimension.
AMDIMFORMAT Edits individual dimensions with the dialog box.
AMDIMINSERT Edits linear, aligned, rotated, and angular dimensions by
inserting new dimensions of the same type simultaneously.
AMDIMJOIN Edits linear, aligned, and angular (3-point or 2-line) dimensions
by joining similar dimensions into a single dimension.
AMDIMMEDIT Edits multiple dimensions at the same time.
AMDIMSTRETCH Shortens or lengthens linear or symmetric dimensions.

Dbreak.lsp will do it...and it's been updated by
author Bill Kramer for 2000.
Think it may still be on customer files?
Seems like Chip Harper posted it.
