insert point

hi people,
I have a problem which is easy to solve for you (i guess).
The problem is when i copy clip objects from another drawing and paste in other drawing, i am prompted for
insertion point. After i insert i don't see the objects i pasted until i zoom extents. And it seems it's miles away from the main area i've been working. I see two small dots one of them is my main area. Can anybody solve my problem by setting autocad exactly the point where i click. And sometimes i can't paste some objects from other drawings. Why is that?!!! wonders me why all the time.
Thanks heaps people

Don't use "Copy", use "Copy with Base Point".
Also make sure that your UCS is at World or you will get strange
results.
