In-voluntary Mirroring

Hi everybody,
I hope someone can help me to solve a mystery. I am using ACAD 2000i with
Windows 98 second edition. When I xref a drawing in to another drawing the
xref inserted backward and 90 degree rotated even though in dialog box I
keep the rotation angle unchanged 0d0'0". Same problem occurs when I use
insert or copy command. Also multiline text command inserts the text
mirrored and 90 degree rotated. All these happening even though the MIRRTEXT
command is set to 0. Is there another variables that is effecting this flip?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

This question had been asked last week and it was mentioned that it was a
known bug in AutoCAD. Here's what John Schmidt posted.

This is a bug in AutoCAD, and is present in all releases. Autodesk is aware
of this, but has not fixed it. They also have an unreleased tech doc. on
it - ask your reseller to get in touch with tech support for TS66457 - below
is what it contains:
-----------------------------------------------------
Here is the details of the issue you are experiencing:

Question:
Complex linetypes are displayed with the text mirrored, upside down, and
shifted. If the line is selected and any property is changed, it displays
correctly until the drawing is loaded again. If an audit or recover is run
on the drawing, errors are displayed, but the entities display mirrored
again when the drawing is reopened.
Answer:
The workaround for this issue is to use the following script to "clean up"
all of these entities for the current session. You can enter this script at
the command line, open a VLISP window and load it, or create a macro or
button. When the script runs, it will update each entity, which will clean
up the display of those complex linetypes that display the text mirrored.
***script starts next line***
(setq ss (ssget "_x" '((100 . "AcDbEntity"))))
(setq index 0)
(repeat (sslength ss)
(entupd (ssname ss index))
(setq index (+ index 1))
)
(command "_regen")
***script ends previous line***

Thanks for the quick response.
As you suggested I enter UCS command and changed the name to it,is default
World but it did not changed any thing in the dwg. I noticed the UCS icon
itself is flipped and reversed which I thing it means in this particular
drawing the World UCS settings is wrong. What I did next is, at UCS command
line I entered OrthoGraphics and change it to Bottom. This changed the flip
issues but did not change 90 degree rotation. My UCS icon shows X axis down
and Y axis to the right. I also do not have a square (a symbol of something)
at the intersection of X and Y on the Icon. I have other drawing files which
do not have this problem and their UCS indicates correct coordinates.
Therefore I don't think this is the ACAD bug problem mentioned.
Thanks.

Darron, Read the question first. He's not having a problem with complex linetypes.

If you make the UCS world current, then do the PLAN command...??

Yes, the UCS has to be right, but I have thE same problem, and I ASSURE you, I have complete control over ucs orientation, and it still doesn't seem to help. There are a NUMBER of insertion and creation related issues where in r-14 & earlier UCS kept GOOD control over creation, insertion and X-Ref issues. This situation seems to have crept in since the "Improvements" to UCS and multiple UCS's in M-space viewports, at r-200X and newer. Whoever's wish list item for multiple UCS's in multiple m-space vports got answered, well, the answer seems to have resulted in a number of VERY ANNOYING new acad behaviors. I've given up trying to "correct" them, and just hard-fix incorrect occurances to CREATIONS, inserts & X-Ref's. Any GENUINE suggestions?

THANKS-
C.F.

UCS in TILEMODE=1 behave as they did in R14 if UCSVP=0. However, they do seem to behave oddly in TILEMODE=0.
