Importing an IGS file

Can somebody help me? I'm using AutoCAD 200i, and I have been sent an .IGS file, I'm told that AutoCAD will import it no problems, but I can't figure out how to. Do I need some sort of add on installed or is it something I'm missing?

Thank you

Danny

Danny,

The following is from Knowledge Base.

To open an IGES file in AutoCAD you need to have the correct AutoCAD IGES translation product installed.

AutoCAD 2000 requires AutoCAD IGES 2000, which is available on the AutoCAD Data Exchange 2000 CD.
AutoCAD 2000i requires AutoCAD IGES 2000i , which is available on the AutoCAD Data Exchange 2000i CD.
An AutoCAD Data Exchange CD is not available for AutoCAD 2002; you must have AutoCAD® Mechanical 6 installed to open IGES files.

You need either an add-on (the Data Exchange package, see your AutoCAD
dealer) or a "vertical version" of AutoCAD that includes IGES import
(such as, I think, Mechanical Desktop).
