Exporting to DXF problem

Whenever a coworker exports a DWG to DXF it adds the DWG extension to the end (example 12345.DXF.DWG). Anybody have a fix for this?

Are you sure that they are Exporting to DXF and not just trying to save it as a DXF by typing ".DXF" after the title?

I'm positive...I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling. I haven't tried to do anything to the registry yet.

are they using the dxfout command?

They have tried dxfout an saveas...nothing works.
