Custom hatch pattern

Is there an easy way to create a custom hatch pattern? I read about the acad.pat file.
I recently got a drawing that has a gravel pattern in it and I would like to have that as
part of my hatch pattern options. I list this pattern and it says it is a hatch pattern, but
I cannot inherit the properties. Pleas help. Thank you.

We've used BOOBYHATCH for a number of years. Look for it at someplace like
http://www.cadalog.com.
Also, if you just want to capture a hatch pattern from an existing drawing,
you might try GETPAT.LSP from http://www.turvill.com/t2/free_stuff.
