Can you insert a autocad drawing into power point

My Question-

Does anybody know if it is possible to insert an autocad drawing into power
point and if so what format would it need to be in etc-dwf, dwg. My boss is
giving a presentation and would like to include a set of drawings into his
power point presentation. Any help or suggestion would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!

I have done Power Point presentations using AutoCAD drawings for school
class presentations and I find the quickest way to do it is use the Print
Screen button on the keyboard and paste into MS paint. I then clip off the
part of the image which shows toolbars etc and paste the edited drawing
straight into Power Point. Works for me and the resolution is good enough
because the resultant image is only viewed on screen again.

1. Use the copyclip command in AutoCAD to copy the drawing (or portion of) to the clipboard.

2. In PowerPoint, use the Edit | Paste Special command - then choose how you want it pasted.
a) AutoCAD Drawing - will create an OLE object linked back to actual drawing file, meaning any changes made to the drawing will be updated in the powerpoint file (not in real time, though)
b) Picture, Enhanced Metafile - will insert a "snapshop" of the drawing in WMF vector format. Not updatable, but a nice clean small picture format.

Print to a TIF or PNG file, use a custom paper size to get a larger print
and use an image editing app to change the dimensions and DPI.

Much better quality than the cut-n-paste method or OLE method.

Another option, if you have Photoshop. Print to PDF, open the PDF in
Photoshop, specifying the DPI you desire, then save as an image file to
insert into PowerPoint.

1-paste direrctly the printscreen in powerpoint and use
the format image to clip the image

2-the options copy paste from autocad is not avaible with modelspace and
give problems with solid (draworder )

3-the best way is to use a plot to a tif of jpg format
(add a raster format plotter)

If you have the Whip plug in from Autodesk (free), you can insert it as an
object in Power Point. Select "Tools - Objects - Autodesk Whip! Control".
Once the control is in Power Point, you can move it and resize it to suite.
To get your DWG image in the control, right click on it, and a properties
box should come up. Then you can select the 'StreamName' property and type
in the full path and name of the dwf file. Unfortunatly that propertie does
not let you browse for a file, you must fully type it in. The advantage of
using a DWF is you can actually pan around the drawing and turn layers
off/on, and other things like that. Could make the presentation more
dynamic.

Hope this helps.

Woops, I just rememberd that I think Autodesk took Whip off of their web
site, but replaced it with "Autodesk Express Viewer". I imagine it is
basically the same to use in this regard.
