Apparently, the .sv$ file is deleted under normal operations when Autocad
closes. The .sv$ remains if Autocad terminates under abnormal conditions.
This doesn't help if files are mistakenly deleted after Autocad closes
(which was my problem). You may want to use the .bak option and set your
autosave to something like 10 minutes. This still would not have saved me,
but in most cases will work.
