autocad 2000 won't recognize digitizer/pointing device

After installing my sumagraphics digitizer and calcomp driver (tweser2kxp) I am unable to configure my tablet. When I enter the "tablet" command it says "your pointing device cannot be used as a tablet".

I can see that my digitizer works to the point that the puck moves the cusror on the screen.

Please help.

Jim

The error message means your driver is not being recognized as one belonging
to a tablet. AutoCAD will not fix this, you need a driver that AutoCAD can
use as a tablet, not a mouse (why it moves on screen, because Windows sees
it as a mouse driver).

Go to "Options", in the "System" tab, look for the section called "Current
pointing device" and change it from "Current system pointing device" to
"Wintab Compatible Digitizer...".

Also, if you still have a mouse connected as well, make sure that "Accept
input from:" below that is set to the "Digitizer and mouse" option. The
"Digitizer only" option will make nothing work.
