What stuff? Toolpac, Quikpik, Plot logging, acad.dvb, plot setups,
templates, preferences, acaddoc.lsp, etc. I've got about 20 things I change
after the install is supposedly complete. I'm with Marshall...the install is
fast, it's all the tweaking that takes so long. Even with profiles and a
check list, I still allow two hours minimum to do a clean install of LDD and
"stuff."

Has anyone else experianced DIMRAD, DIMDIA< and the QUADrand Osnap
filesing on circles that are embeded within a block?

I've had this pop up on randomly. I've uploaded a test file to customer
files if anyone wants to try it.

I still can't narrow down the exact steps to create them put I have
cteated blocks like this on several occasions.

Gee! James! You and I use a lot of the same other "stuff." Getting it all
set up again is not difficult just time consuming.

just out of curiousity, why would you have to reinstall programs like
QuikPik and ToolPac (both of which I use) when you reinstall Acad? I have a
folder called Acad which I always install AutoCAD to which has non Acad
installed folders for my lisp/vba routines, plotter setups, bitmaps, etc. I
save a profile before I uninstall, uninstall acad but leave my custom
subfolders, clean the registry with System Mechanic, restart the computer,
install the upgrade to the Acad folder, and restore my profile which reloads
everything. 10 to 15 minutes max start to finish...honest 🙂

Thanks for the tip - I didn't think of doing it that way. I'll have to try
that next time I set up a computer.

One of my problems is that I usually put off a major software upgrade until
I upgrade my computer so at that point I'm usually starting from scratch.
When I installed A2ki I upgraded from a 300mz with 256 RAM to a Ghz with 512
RAM and the buss on the boards was also much faster than my old machine.
Ghz boards and processors are now down in the $300 dollar range. I try to
stay a generation or two behind in hardware because the prices drop
drastically once the new ones are put on the market and even the old ones
are faster than I can think. I hope with the new dual processor boards now
out that the 1.8Ghz boards and processors will take a big drop.

Thanks to Alex Thoemmes @ Autodesk for pointing me to the problem being
tied to the WHIPARC system variable setting.

well, I agree that doing a from scratch install of Everything on a new box
will take some time, it can still be minimized by the use of the same drive,
common folder names, special folders for customization, and profiles. Try it
next time you have to do an upgrade, you'll like it 🙂
