TOOLBAR command, Customize button, Modify Category, all four toolbar buttons
are there. Drag to your favorite toolbar.

when i type in toolbar (or use the dropdown menu), i automatically get the customize dialogue box, and the toolbars tab is chosen. (i'm not given a customize button or a chance to modify category.) the only break button i have on the modify toolbar is the 2-point break. (i've checked all the others, as well, but can't find it.) this is a different toolbar custimazation procedure than the one i remember from A2Ki (from my last job), maybe that's why i don't quite understand your response. anyway, i do know how to mdify the macro for that button so i can automatically get a 1-point break, so i've done that (change the macro to ^C^C_break\F\NON @.) is there some way to set the break button as a flyout to include the other options?

What AutoCAD version are you using? My initial answer was for 2000, the
group discussion topic.

To create flyouts, you need to use TOOLBAR, but it obviously is not working
like it is on my set up.

i'm using 2000i (the topic at the top says 2000 and 2000i.) i was using 2000i at my last job as well, but the setup was different than at my current job (it was the same as 2000 at my last job.)

Well, let's see, in 200i, you start the TOOLBAR command (type
_toolbar at the command prompt): the customize pop-up appears,
you click on the Commands Tab, scroll down in categories to All
Commands, in the Commands Window you scroll down to Break, and
all four break toolbar button options are there.

To create a Flyout, back to the Categories, right above All
Commands.

Did I get it right this time? If you get stuck, the HELP button
is there to assist.

thanks for the instructions. they were perfect except for one thing - i only have one break option in the commands list! i've gone through the manual and the help assistance, but there's nothing there other than stuff relating to the regular break command. i don't think they've been erased (this was a clean install of A2Ki, i'm the only one that's used it.) could my version just be missing this stuff? (anyone from autodesk have any info on stuff like this? is there someplace i can download those other 3 options?) the dialog box goes from "box" to "break" to browse the web (i've checked the modify category, too, still just one break icon.) we just purchased and installed express tools, but there was nothing in there, either.

OK, this discussion is driving me crazy now. All of my dialog's look
exactly as dviator is describing his, only one BREAK command no matter where
I look and it is the traditional 2-Point version. Dean, are you saying that
there are four BREAK commands that came with your stock version of A2k
and/or A2ki? This one-point BREAK command sounds extremely useful to me.
Maybe this is something that came with one of the vertical products?

what's your e-mail address? if no one can come up with anything else, i'll send you the file that bernd hoffmann sent me (it's from R13, but updated for 2000.) or you can change the macro to automatically do the 1-point break when you click the 2-point break icon. (you can still do a 2-point break this way, but you have to type it on the command line instead of clicking the icon.)

Could you post that to CF?

Just like matthew, I think it will be very
usefull.

(and I think a lot of people will)

Thanks

i'm not quite sure what CF is, but tell me what it is and how to post a file to it and i'd be happy to! as for changing the macro: type in TOOLBAR on the command line and click the Properties tab. click on the BREAK icon and change the macro so that it reads ^C^C_break\F\NON @. now when you click the BREAK icon it'll let you select a 1-point break.

I'll post it. Subject line: R13 toolbar menu.

This isn't working for me and I would rather not update my entire menu file,
what am I doing wrong? I copied your text out of here and pasted it into
the buttons macro section (using 2000i). It puts _break at the command
prompt but I have to hit enter and then it enters "F" at the Select Object
prompt which after I hit enter puts it into the Fence selection mode, once I
draw a fence through something it goes into selecting my first and then my
second point to break at.

Thanks,

matthew g.

it should be ^C^C_break \F \NON @ (with spaces after the word break, the letter F and the word NON.) to default the icon back to it's original settings, click the reset button under the properties tab in the customize toolbars dialog box.

Thanks dviator and Bernd

Buttons are working now.

Anyone knows how to put this in a Command/Lisp to enter in the
command line?

TIA

must be some customizing there -- I use 2ki and the 1-point break is
right there where it used to be. But it sounds as though you have the
siutation in hand.
