Bones XY Axes Problem

Hi, I'm new on 3ds Max, at least at rigging... Today I started to rig a character, but I tried to create the first bones, and I had a huge problem

Trying to create the Spine Bones, in Z-Axis, they were placed automatically in XY Axis, so I cannot place them in the Z-Axis

I tried to configurate in many ways the pivots but doesn't works...

How can I fix this?

The Perspective viewport works in the same way as the Top viewport, from the point of view of Object Creation, so yes, objects will be created on the XY Plane. If you use the Front viewport they'll be created on the XZ plane (Left viewport would create them on the YZ Plane).

If you're creating a "standard" human character rig you might be better off using Biped or CAT as they are pre-rigged for animation - at least until you are much more familiar with how Max works.
