Triming wrap around surfaces

Hi Friends,

                I want to know about trimming a wrap around surface, the best example for this kind of surf. is headlamp or rearlamp lens in Automobiles.  Eg: Toyota Corolla Altis

Now my doubt is how do they are trimmed in such a way as it looks quite natural in all views. The result is like bringing the lens shape intentionally so good to look in all views.

I tried projecting curves in front, but the projection looks wierd in the side view also in the top.

Hope somebody can guide me to solve this issue.
