Tolerances

Hi, I would like to know if someone could give me a good understanding of the tolerances under Preferences-

Construction options: They are all in metric how can I use decimal inches and know my tolerances are

set to class A type work say the equivalent to Catia V5 standards. I work in Solidworks and Rhino and Mastercam

and all is set to inches why does Alias not have a Catia in inches or Solidworks in inches preset?

What am I supposed to be looking for when setting up my tolerances?

Also maybe it's just me but would it kill Autodesk to give us an object snap panel like Rhino,I just can't see how that would hurt.

If you check under "Construction Presets" there is a tab for Catia 4 and Catia 5. Also under the "Units>Linear" tab you can set everything in inches.
