Rotating objects on Local axis

Hi All,

This is a simple one.

How can I rotate an object, lets say a steering wheel, on its local axis and not the global XYZ axis, without making a construction plane ?

In 3ds Max, there is a simple local axis option, which allows you to rotate objects on there local axis.

I know construction plane is an option, but is there something much quicker & simpler, like in Max and Maya ?

If there is not option like that, it would be cool to have one 🙂

Thanks,

Sahil.

If you click two times on the Rotate tool in the Palette, the Rotate Option window will appear. From there you can choose the coordinate system which will be used for the rotation: Global, Local, Universe.

The Local Axes System can also be modified with the tool: Palette -> Transform - Set Local Axes (it is usually hidden in the sub menu of the move pivot tool)

cheers

sergio

Why has the toggle local axis option been removed from the window display toggles pivots options? In the manual, it is there, in the application it is not!
