Marine Plugins for Alias

Does anyone know of any companies developing add-ins or plugins for the marine industry specifically for use with Alias?

Hello Scott,

I got a response from the Alias team leam and he said that he does not really have an idea of what you are actually

inquiring about    he asked what do you want to do with the plug in? and a plugin for what? Are you trying to import certain types of files into Alias or exchange with another program,

more information on what you are actually after would be appreciated.

There are a number of plugins available for Rhino which automate certain modelling tasks, which generally are rubbish. However, they do have certain analysis tools included which Naval Architects depend on. Such as Stability & Hydrostatic calculations and estimations along with a few other handy tools. These tools are crucial to allow analysis of the suitability of the design and to allow the sales team to have data to do their thing.

One example is Orca3D http://www.orca3d.com/

Thank you for your continued efforts and I hope the above information is useful. I should have clarified it earlier, i thought i had, but must have been in another thread.

I believe this is key to securing lucrative seats within the marine industry, which would immediately flow through to the rest of the tools available in the PDS ultimate suites and likely some FDS seats also. I truely believe Autodesk are missing a trick here.

Thanks again

Scott
