How could I get a 2d unfolded pattrern of a 3D surface if I want to use it for cardboard modelling.

I don't think you can do this in Alias. There are several purpose built digital tools for this.
If you are just looking to fool around with it Pepakura Designer is cheap and can import a 3D model built in Alias..
