How do I make stickers that conform to a curved surface?

I have a model I made in alias automotive, and now I want to make stickers that will bend over the surface and still fit. Remember those maps of the earth that looked like you could cut and fold them into a globe? Like that. Actually I'm working on a full sized clay prototype of my alias model and I'm cutting cardboard to make sure the features are correctly placed. But since the cardboard bends, it changes all the distances. I need something I can print on 8.5 x 11" paper, glue to cardboard, cut out, and wrap on my clay that will give me locations of things like windows, vents, and door latches.....

Thank you in advance,
Arie

Hi,

Have a look at OBJECT EDIT / DYNAMIC SHAPE MODELING / CONFORM RIG .

That s what you are loking for, i think.

You may also have a look at TRANSFORM / ARRAYS / SURFACE ARRAY

The name is quite suggestive at what t does 🙂

Hope that  helped,

Have fun
