Alias Wire file to maya 2012

Hi There

I have an old alias power animator wire file created around 1998 that I'd like to open/import into maya2012. I believe the power animator version would have been 7.5. I have tried to use the studioImport plugin in maya but get this message

file -import -type "studioImport"  -ignoreVersion -options "Axis=2;Raytrace=0;useCameras=0;useLights=0"  -pr -loadReferenceDepth "all" "/mnt/library/3d/old_alias_wirefiles/ColourGun180399";

I'm running maya on Ubuntu.

Can you help or can you suggest any other route?

What about trying to open it in Alias?

If you cant open it in a recent alias, i think you will never open it in maya.
