Dimensioning in Alias

maybe its a noob question but how do I set dimensions on 2 D view ??

in 2D view is there anyway to move objects in one direction with setting some dimension numbers ??

and how do I set some dimension on curves ( not in 0,0,0 ) ??

Dimensioning in Alias is not particularly robust, but you can do some:  Palette -> Locators -> Measure -> ...

You can snap the locators onto curves or surfaces as you wish.  Use Move Locator to position the dimensions where you want them.

Do you mean you want to type numbers into the Locators and have the objects move accordingly?  No, you cannot.

If you want to create lines and arcs of a specific length readuis or arc length by typing then you can do this by using the keypoint curves ffrom the keypoint curve toolbox in Cruves tab.

For a straight line simply place the curve by clicking (with or withoutr some form of snapping) to creatye the 2 ends, then with the information window open there is a section at the top whenre you can trpe in to adjust the length to exactly what you want.
