Alias Speed Form merging primitives

I am a beginner in 3D modelling. Is it possible in Alias Speedform to combine/attach primitives to a single body/object?? Please help me. It's very east to model a form by building primitives and then combine and refine to get the form we want.

"Detail workspace"  seems to have a similar option, but here it is not possible to sculpt the form like how we do in the "Sculpt workspace".

Can you post an image or data example of what you are trying to achieve? Boolean operations only works on the Nurbs data in Speedform. When changing from Sculpt to Detailing with timeline being active, your T-Splines get converted to Nurbs, so that you can do those operations in Detailing.

Best regards,

Imagine creating a form like this in Speedform. This form can be abstracted
as a combination of 4 spheres and a cuboid.

How I created this form in Speedform is:

1. Created 2 spheres using primitives
2. Created a half open cuboid using curves positioned at center. (Now I
have 3 bodies))
3. Deleted faces of each sphere that are facing the cuboid.
4. Closed few edges of the half open cuboid, such that I have two open
holes to "fix" the sphere.
5. Merged appropriate ring of edges of each sphere to it's corresponding
cuboid hole's edges to get a single body from 3 different bodies.
6. Used symmetry to get other side.
7. Refined finally by moving and tweaking vertices.

Now I am wondering if there is an option where...

1. I simply create 2 spheres and a cuboid using primitives.
2. I place the spheres overlapping the cuboid at the right place.
3. Then by a unifying boolean operation-> The 2 spheres and the cuboid
merge into one body.
4. I then refine the new form by whatever means.

ps: I feel the last method can be very faster. It's like you assemble
primitives whatever way you want to make it closer to the form you want,
and then click "some union", boom! Everything merge into one editable blob.
(It can have an option for organic merging or merging retaining the
intersecting edges.)

This feature might not be there.. but it's like a suggestion. I you think
there is a faster means by which I can model the same within the speedform.
Please let me know. 🙂

Thanking you

Hi Thridev,

unfortunately it doesn't look like your image is working, can you please try again?

Thanks,

I have attached the image here. I hope you got the text content of earlier
mail.

Sorry, I still don't see an image? Are you using the "Photos" option here? For me, that one works? See:
