Change Path of Autodesk 360 Installation Folder

This message has been reposted as per request of A360 Support.  Thanks

Hey Autodesk,

Due to a series of macros and functions we run on Visual Basic and MATLAB, we need to be able to better control the path to our Autodesk 360 files. For esample, Autodesk 360 automatically installs to a sub directory under the windows user name:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Sync\Cloud\username\Projects

We would like to change this so that our Autodesk360 folder resides only on the C:\

Also...

Can we please get rid of that space in the directory name "Autodesk Sync?" It's killing us. Again to link our Autodesk 360 folder to our macros we need to eliminate that space in the file name. Can we rename that folder to "A360" or "AutodeskSync???"

thanks so much,

-Justin

Hi Justin,

Thanks for posting your question to the A360 Drive feedback forum. There is no way to change the drive or install name for A360 Desktop. It' called out in the FAQ on the A360 Drive WEB Site help. The installer is actually called from inside the AutoCAD or Inventor installer.

You might want to go ahead and post this as an idea in the IdeaStation. Then we can open it up to comments and kudos from others.

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions.

I guess the problem is that the project file resides on the server.

If you cannot path 360 to the server then you cannot completely sync back up.

For example your xrefs and shortcuts are all out of sync. A lot of opportunity to lose work.

A thumb drive is still the best way to take a project with you on a trip or to work at home.

Just my opinion.

Is my concept of 360 wrong??
