Python 2.4, 2.5, etc

Hello All,

We're contemplating releasing the Wiretap Python bindings as sample code to allow developers to create bindings for Python 2.4 and 2.5. Only Python 2.3 is supported today. Is this of interest to any WT developers?

Thanks,

HI All,

In case it doesn't make it into the release notes, I'm pleased to anounce that the bindings sources will be included in the next beta release of the SDK.

Cheers,

Dan

Yes, very much so. Also, maybe you could ship the boost_python libraries, since the boost licensing explicitly allows so.

You would need to compile them against the version of Python you would be supporting. Since we don't support anything but Python 2.3, naturally we would not be building the boost libraries you seek.

Aside, getting Autodesk legal to read the EULA and give us the OK would take some time. 🙂

On the subject of Python is there a Python sample for 'createProject.C' as the samples directory contains Python versions of everything else?

Hi Brian,

There isn't in the current SDK, but the code is so similar to the C code that you could easily convert it.

Let us know if you have any difficulty with it.

Dan
