mode_tile help with nested dialog boxes

Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to use the mode_tile command in lisp to allow the user to enter data into an edit_box if a toggle is selected in a preceeding dialog box.

The first dialog box has a series of 12 toggles, each with unique keys. Each toggle is used to determine wether the user has the ability to enter data into a series of three edit_boxes located in a second dialog box.

Ex: If the first toggle is selected, then the user moves on to the second dialog box (clicking next), there should be three edit_box's in a row which he/she may enter data into, while having eleven more rows grayed out.

I've tried using an if statement "(if (= ln1 0) (mode_tile "1acin" 1))" where ln1 is the toggle and 1acin is an edit_box in the second dialog, and I've tried putting this, and other forms of this, into different parts of the lisp code, but none of them are working.
