the short answer is "yes".
it is possible.

autocad IS as database. never forget that.

I am working on something similar, I think it is similar, to use lisp to output a file that would be like DXFOUT, but would write to a gbXML spec.

so I ask, what is vault?

Does vault (have) a .dll or other loadable library,
specifically written to interface to Lisp ?
(probably not).
You would be better off to explore Visual Basic,
Open AutoCAD / dwg.. extract info, and
Open vault (session) .. try to store data ..

Or, if vault (has) some 'import' or 'scripting' language,
see what types of files it (can) read from..

i dont know if vault has that stuff
Bob.

my IT is on vacation for the next 10 days so i dont
have any vault server to look at till he gets back.

I looked at visual basic, looked a little to
advanced for me.

ill have to wait and see if vault can import
information from other files types

thanks for the heads up

HTML is the language used to make most web pages, it was originally to make communications easier between programs, I think.
XML is to HTML what the metric system is to the old English units - rethunk.

gbXML is a specific schema, standard, which means "Green Building" XML - a feel nice term for environmentalists.

it's basically parenthetical, like lisp or HTML - and you will never need to know any of this, most likely.

Hi, I've used the program Cool Orange to write data to Vault. So it can be done.  I'm not sure about LISP.
