ground rules for posts

After reading the thread involving the little spat between Frank and Tony
(subject: entsel is nil, but I need the picked pt), I decided to check out
the rule page for posting, which is located at
http://discussion.autodesk.com/webx?groundrules
I would recommend everyone take a look at this site as I would bet that at
least 80% (myself included) do not follow these rules. Following these rules
would certainly make some of the posts a little easier to follow.

As for the spat between Frank and Tony, its too bad this group can't benefit
from both of them.

BTW Anne, I think you should crack down more on the posts over 16k in size.
Some of us less fortunate people on modems lock up for several minutes when
we click on a header that has a 200k attachment. On second thought, wasn't
this issue voted on a while back? what was the outcome?

That is no kidding. We all could really benefit from that (at least I
could).

I believe everyone has read it.

As for Tony and Frank, they've been at it for about 2 years now.

Difference of opinion, they has to learn to control, that's all.

By the way, nice to have you back Tony.

Rudy,
I agree with you that most of the "regulars" here have read it. I guess I
was also looking at the Tips on Discussion Group Etiquette which state:
When replying to a post, include your message above the quoted text.
When replying to a post, delete the parts of the quoted text that your
message does not address.

Many people do not do this but I suppose this is just a tip and not a ground
rule 😉
Paul

Paul -

Rereading the groundrules for any place you frequent is usually a
good idea.

Moderators do try very hard to watch the byte size on all the
newsgroups. Reviewing the ones here I found one at 146k which
I've now moved. On a personal note, I'm temporarily on a phone
modem at a rental home waiting for our new home to be finished.
It is not fun to download large files on phone modem.
