RunTimeError

R2006 WinXP Pro SP2.

I pick help files on the "help" menu and the help screen comes up.
***Edit: correction:
Then I choose Autolisp,VisualLisp & DXF from the customization guide and I get the choices of links:

AutoLISP Reference.
AutoLISP Developer's Guide.
AutoLISP Tutorial.
DXF Reference.

It's when I coose one of these links that I get the
message on the attached.

If I choose "debug", I get the next message and screen.

I've rebooted, shut down and restarted several times and it won't go away.
Any Ideas?

TIA

Bill,
Looks like the \help folder has been corrupted, or some
.dll within Windows has changed.
I have 2006/Win XP Pro (without SP2), did same operations.. and did not get that type of message.

I tried restoring windows back to yesterday.
Didn't help.
So I'm thinking it's an AutoCAD thing.

I'm looking for my upgrade to 2006 disk to see if I can repair.

Thanks.

Looks like everyone here has the same problem.

Except the users with Windows 2000 get a different error.

It looks like and explorer error (see attached).

Does this help?

I get that kind of error.. on Win98/R2002.
Help doesn't work there at all. Never dived into it
to identify the problem.
If you find the culprit, or 'update' that fixes it, let me
know (do a link to MicroSoft site)..

I restored my computer to one week ago.
That fixed the problem.
After I restarted, the ballon for automatic Windows updated came on.
I clicked okay and run the updates.
Same ol crap with the error again.

I guess MicroSoft isn't checking this stuff very good.
Maybe I'll try UNIX.

Bill & Bob, if it's any consolation, Windows updates also killed my New Features Workshop in 2007.

Tom,

I fought my computer all day on Thurs. with the reboots and re-running other updates that were deleted by restore.
Ruined my whole day.

I did submit a bug report.

thanks

Bill
