Lisp routine for scheduling

Hi, Is there a routine out there that can be used for extracting HVAC schedule details from the attributed blocks like grilles & AC units in a plan view & inserted into a table or a schedule? what i want to do is run a routine that can go through selected files & extract data from the grilles AC units exhaust fans etc &  put it into a schedule in another drawing. I imagine this is very possible but would need some specific inputs. does anyone know of anything?

cheers

You might get more useful answers if you told where yor data is coming from. Vanilla AutoCAD knows nothing about HVAC, so is this some Autodesk vertical product, or some third-party application?

The biggest problem in your idea is working with several drawings: normal AutoLISP programs are drawing-specific so jumping to another drawing kills the program. There are some ways around this, usually easiest is to use an outside program to control this.

Try dataextraction and in the end you you can inser the data in a table in the dwg or save as xls, cvs file...
