In Autocad 2006

Open Autocad

Open Layer Properties Manager

Add New Layer

Set Color to the new Layer doesnt do anything

You press Aply Button

Set Color to the new Layer is now applying

This is  an error

is there a lisp code to fix?

Sounds like you have a broken installation of AutoCAD 2006.  My Layer Property Manager has no problems creating a New layer and then when I click on the Color column of that new Layer I'm able to select from the Select Color window any color listed, click OK and without clicking Apply, right away I see on the Color column of that new Layer the color and the color number.

Thanks Paul,

So is it possible to purchase a legal version of autocad 2006?

You know i had a legal Autocad R14 with windows '98SE working perfectly since ten years+

For me Autocad R14 is a great Software and the best was ever made

But new technologies to Hardware + Software forces me to find new solution

The latest Autocad Versions are too far of me.

The Windows become more and more like Operating System for mobiles, and i'm too old to start with new technologies.

Regards,

Gery

Nope.  Since Autodesk does not sell old software versions so the dealers would not have them available either.

The current version number is 2015.  You can always purchase AutoCAD 2015LT which is a lot less than AutoCAD 2015.

It's not that difficult to get used to compared to 2006.  You can actually configure 2015 to look pretty close to the graphic user interface you are used to in 2006.

Thanks Paul for all your help.

You know my version is Autocad R14 wich i purchased long time ago and i used untill now.

I made a lot of routines for my job , using Borlad Delphi and the OLE server of autocad.

Now , new hardware technologies don't allow Autocad R14 usage.

I search solution but i think that LT versions of Autocad don't have OLE server.

Is it true?

If that happens i have to purchase the latest full version wich is a little expensive, and i have to make it work as ~Autocad R14 doing a lot of changes to cofiguration and being so old to follow new technologies to those i'm far.

That's the reason i look if Autocad 2006 is my next version , which works after a small change to configuration as Autocad R14.

Additionally, i can't understand some changes wich are more back steps to the Autocad Application Controls.

For example why Color Manager had to loose the default CURSOR (crArrow) during when inserts to color select controls?

When user uses mouse has a complete (bit by bit) sense of the cursor position only if each cursor position is viewable bit by bit and not when position changes about 16 bits.

Autocad is the best CAD app and a CAD grand platform but some small things go back.

The same does with windows.

I'm old man and what happens scares me.

Unfortunately, LT versions of Autocad don't support OLE server.

If you are getting paid to do work, then you should account in the expense the software used to do the work.

One of these expenses would be keeping your computer hardware as well as the software current so you can be as productive as possible.

My 2 cents.
