We are using AutoCAD Map 2000i for property mapping and exporting to Mapguide Author 5. We are having problems with a closed polygon inside another closed polygon (island polygon) The polygons are being linked using 'dbconnect', linking on enclosed text, then exported to Mapguide as polygons.
Problem 1: If the polygons are on the same layer in CAD, the internal polygon displays under the external polygon.
Problem 2: The geometry/area of the external polygon includes the internal polygon even if they are on seperate layers.
We want to be able to have both polygons on the same layer with the external polygon having 2 parts, the external boundary and the internal island polygon.
We've heard of 'mpolygon'. Is this a possible solution with a newer version of AutoCAD?
