Getfiled or file dialog, Image thumbnail

I need a file dialog box to select an image file but I would like to default
to thumbnails. This only needs to return the filename. I am using acad 2005.
Any suggestions?

Can this be done?
Is there any routines, functions or software than can do it?

Any help appreciated
