Get a 3rd party object with ObjectDBX or native lisp.

Ultimately I want to count a 3rd party objects, when the drawing is closed....  But a side note first...

I would have thought that this would have worked when the drawing is open... I double checked the spelling and it is correct.

But it does not work. Shouldn't this be possible?

(setq ss (ssget "X" (list (cons 0 "CompXHangerPnt"))))

(For sake of discussion I've have fictitious name in the example here).

... could it work somehow with activeX vla- functions?

What you have should work fine as long as the entities are in model or paper space, you just need to use the correct DXF name.

As far as I remember if  parameter DXF_NAME in ACRX_DXF_DEFINE_MEMBERS macro of custom entity is not fully uppercase  -  (ssget "_X" <dxf-name>) is not working properly and return nil.
