ERROR -> Menu Syntax Error Line: ###

I have a custom menu for it that has been massaged forward from release 10 through all releases of AutoCAD to 2000. One of the problems I have run into in the last couple of versions of AutoCAD is what appears to be a limit of the length or size of a consecutive set of commands. It appears to be about 33 to 34 lines of code. Is there a limit to the length or amount of characters a section of a custom menu can deal with? And if so, is there a way around it? This message appears when you load the menu that has this problem: ERROR -> Menu Syntax Error Line: ###. Any Ideas other than shortening?

Since you don't want to hear about shortening your menu
routines, I'm not gonna say it.

However, anything that takes more than (2) two lines in a menu
file  just begs to be in it's own program file.

I kinda understand why you would do such a thing (keeping all
your customizations in one place and all) but it really is not a good
idea.

A lot of what you are probably doing could be done in that
*.mnl file that goes with your menu and then you could just call it from your
menu.  This would also keep things nice and neat for you.

Your trying to do more (IMO) than what the menu is intended to
do.

Have fun,

Dave
