Compare drawings

Hi,

Does anyone know of some some code or way to compare two drawings with
eachother and then visualize the differences?

Kind regards

ToolPac includes a tool for drawing comparison.
See http://www.dotsoft.com/images/tpdwgcomp.png

I make a copy of the first file and xref in the second, superimposing it directly over the first. I can change the color of everything in the first file to make any differences pop out immediately, and/or use draworder to put the xref above or below to compare the two files in detail.

I suggest for you, create 2 drawing let say A.dwg with blue color and B.dwg
with red color,then paste B.dwg to A.dwg with base same cordinate, now you
would find different color if that drawing not same

It might be easier to spot the differences if you use a slight offset,
otherwise you won't see the gaps in the A drawing as the B lines cover
those.

Not necessary. Just apply Draworder to the xref, putting it first on top and then on bottom. The bottom color shows through any gap in what's on top and is visible even when zoomed out.

@paullimapa

FYI, that plugin from AppStore is bad... After installation which is successful and upon starting ACAD, CAD reports missing *.dll... I can't recall correctly what dll is an issue, but it's something that installation should have provided - something like missing CompareDWG???.dll in alert box, after which you can only terminate CAD, and start again *.msi file to uninstall it... Good god that I haven't permanently corrupted CAD because of this...

That's a strange error because I've had no problems installing or running the app afterwards.  Perhaps you should email them AutoCAD.apps@autodesk.com to let them help you troubleshoot this problem?
