Ok I should have clarified that I actually needed help to do so
I can write .NET Interops, use the .NET API, and theres a guy that handles everything about LISP. But nobody here knows how to deal with macro accordingly.
Any direction, link, tutorial, sample is greatly apreciated!
well that's depand on what you want to do with CUI/CUIX macro?
do you want to programaticlly write to CUI/CUIX files?
with that i can not help you.
the CUI/CUIX manager is design to create macros for users who (even) have no coding skills.
here is the only good reference manual i use:
from the AutoCAD pulldown menu (top menu) go to Help
Additional Sources\Developer Help
Customization Guide\User Interface Customizaion
but if you have R2011 and up? it will take to help on the net
I think the OP is looking to create a macro, inside a CUIx file, that opens a selected drawing as read-only. That seems reasonable...
AFAIK there is no such beast. The only way I can do that is programmatically, which you can't do in LT. If the application is not that important, try seeing if you can launch TrueView; if so, you can supply the file name as a command-line argument to the EXE.
We really need AutoCAD LT. We specifically bought over 10 licenses of LT for specific features that would speed up mesurements and other stuff (apparently, i don't personally know why they switched).
Thanks for the directions on the documentation. I will be looking at that.
See this post to see if it might help.
Maybe Owen's program will work for you.
BTW I use quickpik for autocad & dont like running it without.
He says it works with LT.
I kinda started that topic, but thanks anyway!
I know about his application but this is not something the company will invest money on. They would rather invest in Autodesk Vault Workground then this (which is actually considered as we speak. Live demo being schedualed, quote already obtained).
Not to mention that I'm kinda confused to how this application is actually legal on LT...
Thanks everyone for the help!
