A question regarding .cuix paths

My company currently uses Civil 3D 2012, and I am looking to streamline our support files before we push 2014. I have a question regarding paths to the customization files.

I have cuix files in a directory specified by a "Support File Search Path", and I have the file in the path specified by the "Main Customization File".

Every file in the directory shared by the Main Customization File is also in a "Support File Search Path".

Do I need those files in the Support path? I ask because I have different modify dates on these files, and I don;t know whick file AutoCAD is looking at, or what will break my CUI. Thanks.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question, specifically the last paragraph. What files are you talking about?

Note: you can use the (findfile) lisp function to see which file AutoCAD is reading. It will return the first one found using its search parameters.

I ended up moving the pertinent files out of each directory, one at a time, and seeing which broke my acad.

Thank you for your help.
