layer dock form

Hello all. I was wondering if it were possible to create a macro form that a user could leave up somewhere in autocad while they design and only invoke commands from the macro as needed.

The direct application to this would be to make a layers form, similar to the default autocad form. However, this form wouldnt need to be closed for the layers to update and would sit on the side of the screen somewhere so the designer could have easier, faster access to changing layers and layer properties. If anyone ever used CAMtastic, they have exactly what I want to create in autocad.

The problem is all the macros I have written now are kind of a one shot program. Just runs all the way through and is done. I dont know anything about how feasable this would be. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
